World Book Day 4th March 2021
World Book Day this year on Thursday 4th March 2021.
In 2021 World Book Day, just like everything else, will be different.
We’ve adapted it to make sure that World Book Day sends a powerful and positive message about books and reading, even in lockdown.
At New Swannington we will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 4th March 2021.
As always, we are asking the children to dress up on this day as a character from a book that they have read or that has been read to them. If they prefer they could dress in black and white like the pages of a book. We will be asking those of you at home to send a photo of you in your costume to email@example.com so that we can create a World Book Day article on the School Website.
In class and through remote learning the children will engage in lots of book related fun and in the evening we will be holding a World Book Day Quiz that everyone can join in.
If you would like to make a donation to World Book Day Fundraising you can do this via the website at https://www.worldbookday.com/fundraising/
There are lots of ideas on how you can join in World Book Day from home at https://www.worldbookday.com/
Attached is your digital £1 book token. The book token is valid from Thursday 18 February – Sunday 28 March 2021 (terms and conditions are included.)
You can join us in building your child’s enthusiasm for books well beyond World Book Day by reading together regularly and joining your local library if you are not yet members. Children are never too young to start their journey with books, and the benefits of reading are enormous—so we hope, like us, you will use World Book Day to celebrate it with your child.
