Mr Barrett - Alice Hawkins

We have had the absolute pleasure to welcome Mr Peter Barrett to school.

Mr Barrett is the great-grandson of Alice Hawkins, one of the incredible Suffragettes who changed the course of the history through their determination in seeking the right for women to have the vote. Mr Barrett also played an important role in arranging for Alice, who was from Leicester, to have a statue erected in her honour in the city.

We enjoyed an assembly followed by year group discussions where Mr Barrett shared lots of information and answered some very insightful questions from the children. They had a great day, and we hope that they will share some of what they’ve learned about this important part of our history with you at home.

Thank you, Mr Barrett, for taking the time to come and visit us
