Behaviour & Safeguarding
New Swannington Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We strive to ensure that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Ed Petrie, Headteacher.
The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are Vanessa Brooks, Deputy Headteacher.
New Swannington Primary School has policies and procedures in place to deal effectively with child protection and safeguarding issues together with recording and monitoring processes. To promote a safe environment for young people at New Swannington Primary School our selection and recruitment policy includes all statutory checks on staff and regular volunteers including Enhanced DBS (disclosure and barring service) checks.
It is a primary aim of our school that every member of the school community feels valued and respected, and that each person is treated fairly and well. We are a caring community, whose values are built on mutual trust and respect for all.
Our school has high expectations of behaviour and our behaviour policy is designed to ensure that everyone, children and adults alike feel and and have the opportunity to learn, and be successful.
